Dr. Abel Casso Dominguez studied medicine at Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, where he graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. Subsequently, he moved to the United States and trained in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Mount Sinai Morningside in New York, where he served as chief internal medicine resident and chief cardiology fellow. He completed his fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center / Harvard Medical School in Boston and Structural Cardiology at NYU Langone Health in New York. Dr. Casso Dominguez is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, and interventional cardiology.
Dr. Casso Dominguez joined Mount Sinai Morningside as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Interventional Director of the Structural Heart Program at Mount Sinai Morningside in 2022. His clinical focus includes transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transcatheter mitral valve therapies (TEER, TMVR, etc.), ASD/PFO closure, para-valvular leak closure, complex PCI, and mechanical circulatory support.
