About Me
Adina Wise, MD is a movement disorders specialist and Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She is a clinician, educator and researcher who cares for patients with Parkinson’s disease, parkinsonism, dystonia, myoclonus, ataxia and tremor. Her clinical research focuses on the genetic and epidemiologic factors associated with the development and progression of Parkinson’s disease, as well on important issues in neuroethics and bioethics, such as the responsible use of AI, electronic medical records, genetic testing and deep brain stimulation within neurology. Dr. Wise also has a strong background and interest in the humanities, and teaches narrative/expressive writing to medical students at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Wise completed her internal medicine internship, neurology residency and two-year movement disorders fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. During training, she was the recipient of several awards for excellence in teaching and clinical research, and was selected to serve as an editorial board member for the Resident and Fellow Section of Neurology. Her research has been funded by the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation and the New York State Department of Health, and she regularly contributes original articles to peer-reviewed journals and mainstream media publications.
