He is an outstanding educator and valued mentor to all his residents and many junior faculty.
He completed his undergraduate degree at Amherst College in Massachusetts, medical degree at New York University School of Medicine; residency in internal medicine at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center; and fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Throughout his tenure at New York Presbyterian, Dr. Majid developed a simulation training program for new graduates to hone their critical thinking skills in real-world clinical scenarios; implemented a quality improvement project centered around daily antimicrobial checklists and pharmacy-led education aimed at improving proper use of antibiotics; and was instrumental in the planning and implementation of orientation programs for trainees in fast-paced step-down units. He is a staunch advocate for quality improvement initiatives that benefit both the delivery of care and the patient experience. His clinical interests include infectious diseases, internal medicine, and hospital medicine.
