About Me
Dr. Alex Bulanov is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a Colon and Rectal Surgeon, Proctologist and General Surgeon at Mount Sinai Beth Israel.
Dr. Bulanov was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and immigrated at a young age to New York. His training includes a BS from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, a Masters in Cell and Molecular Biology from Fordham University in the Bronx followed by a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY - where he was elected to the honor society. He completed his General Surgery residency training in Staten Island University Hospital where he was recognized as the intern of the year and the Surgical Educator of the year during his chief year. Dr. Bulanov then went on to complete a Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA.
Dr. Bulanov has a special interest in Minimally Invasive Robotic Surgery of the Colon, Rectum, and Anus and is committed to bringing the highest level of care across all of Mount Sinai Downtown locations- the office, the endoscopy suite and the operating room.
