About Me
Dr. Lee is an Assistant Professor dually appointed in the department of Orthopaedics and the department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. His focus is on Interventional Physiatry which entails all non-operative treatment of spine related pain. Dr. Lee completed his pre-medical studies at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and then went on to Wayne State University School of Medicine where he obtained his Medical Degree. His residency training was completed in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the renowned Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation in New Jersey and then fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at Beth Israel Medical Center in NYC.
Dr. Lee joined Mt. Sinai in 2013 after serving over 15 years as an attending physician/partner at the Spine Institute of Beth Israel Medical Center in NYC. At the Spine Institute he served as the coordinator of academic and didactic training for the Interventional Physiatry fellowship program. Through the fellowship program, Dr. Lee has helped train a countless number of talented interventional pain management physicians that are well known both locally and nationally. Dr. Lee is double board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. He has extensive experience and expertise in all interventional spine procedures with extra interest in radiofrequency neurotomy.
Dr. Lee was selected for NY Magazine’s Best Doctors as well as the prestigious Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors New York Metro Area for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Interventional Pain Management. Additionally, he was elected to NY Times Super Doctors as well as Best Doctors in America. Other recognitions include America’s Top Physicians in PM&R and Pain Management by Consumer Research Council of America and Talk of the Town Customer Satisfaction Award. He has been cited and featured in several national and local magazine, television and radio broadcasts. The most notable is the November 2010 issue of Vogue Magazine in an article on back pain. Dr. Lee is member of the International Spine Intervention Society (ISIS) and American Academy of PM&R (AAPMR).
Dr. Lee’s interests outside of practicing medicine and his family include a passion for scuba diving and surfing.
