Alexander Tsankov, PhD
About Me
The Tsankov lab’s overall vision is to use genomics to build data-driven, predictive models that improve diagnosis, find new drugable pathways, and personalize treatment of patients with lung cancer and respiratory diseases. We utilize state-of-the-art single cell transcriptomic, epigenetic, and spatial technologies on clinical samples from patients and advanced computational analysis with the goal of unraveling the underlying regulatory mechanisms in normal lung tissue homeostasis and lung disease. Of particular interest is how the interactions of the lung epithelium with the immune and stromal microenvironment change between normal and diseased states. Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.
Dr. Tsankov has not yet completed reporting of Industry relationships.
Mount Sinai’s faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
