Dr. Alexandra Golant is the Medical Director of the Dermatology Faculty Practice at the Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology and the Program Director of the Dermatology Residency Program at Mount Sinai. After completing her undergraduate studies at Cornell University, Dr. Golant received her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She completed her medical internship at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and then returned to Mount Sinai to complete her dermatology residency, serving as Chief Resident in her final year.
Dr. Golant seeks to provide personalized and cutting-edge care to patients of all ages. She is an expert on atopic dermatitis (eczema), a subject on which she leads clinical research and lectures both nationally and internationally. Her other areas of clinical interest include psoriasis, acne, rosacea, and skin cancer detection, as well as cosmetic treatments such as Botox and filler.

She assured us of the diagnosis [...] she listened to the whole story; she made sure we had a follow up appointment that worked for us and explained how to use the cream. She didn't tell us possible side effects of using the cream but we didn't ask and we needed to use it no matter what.
Dr. Golant is the best doctor I've had and is really great at listening and explaining the different considerations for my treatment plan. She has been able to help me come up with a long term plan to actually manage my eczema and prevent bad flare ups instead of just addressing them once they get bad. I often have questions that don't have clear answers or can require some trial and error to find out, especially since my eczema is chronic, and she has been really great about providing as much information as possible and being up front when we may not be able to know the exact answer for why or when something is happening. She is very understanding and receptive to my questions and concerns which means a lot to me since I experienced a lot of dismissiveness from previous providers and this is my first experience managing a chronic condition!
