About Me
Dr. Alexandra Golant is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she serves as Vice Chair for Education in the Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology and Program Director of the Dermatology Residency Program. She is deeply committed to both patient care and academic medicine, with a passion for advancing the care of patients with inflammatory skin disease and medical education.
As a medical dermatologist, Dr. Golant cares for patients with a broad range of skin conditions, with particular expertise in atopic dermatitis (eczema). Her clinical and research interests focus on advancing the use of targeted therapies and optimizing treatment strategies for patients with atopic dermatitis. She is frequently invited to lecture nationally and internationally on these topics.
Dr. Golant believes that the best dermatologic care involves a thoughtful understanding of each patient’s goals and experience. She strives to build lasting partnerships with her patients and to translate scientific advances into care that is both cutting-edge and compassionate. She is committed to creating individualized treatment plans that incorporate the latest therapeutic advances.
Dr. Golant received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She completed her internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and returned to Mount Sinai for her dermatology residency training.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
