About Me
Dr. Burger completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA where he was also asked to stay on for an additional year and have the honor of serving as the Chief Resident in Internal Medicine. He then went on to serve as a clinician, educator and hospitalist with the Yale Primary Care Internal Medicine residency and Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine and later served as an Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency and as a hospitalist at Jacobi Medical Center, prior to 2009 when Dr. Burger moved to Mount Sinai Beth Israel where he serves as the Senior Associate Program Director for the residency and as a hospitalist.
During his time at Mount Sinai Beth Israel he has published in the Journal of Hospital Medicine on academic hospitalist oversight of medical trainees and on the use of "STAT" laboratory orders in the hospital. He has also been an author of the Society of General Internal Medicine's Choosing Wisely recommendations.
Currently, Dr. Burger is an active member of multiple medical organizations and serves on committees at regional and national organizations such as the New York Chapter of the American College of Physicians, the Sociey of Hospital Medicine, the Society of General Internal Medicine and the Clerkship Directors of Internal Medicine.
