About Me

Alice Chen-Liaw grew up in Morris Plains, NJ and went to the University of Scranton, Scranton, Pennsylvania for her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry. She then went on to work as a research associate at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, studying HTLV-1 and viral latency. Alice then began her MD/PhD program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where her PhD work focused on characterizing bacterial strain richness in the gut microbiota in health, disease, and fecal microbiota transplants. She is interested in drug development and bringing new therapeutic options to patients. During the MSTP program, Alice interned at an investment bank researching biotechnology companies. After finishing the program, Alice will begin working at Boston Consulting Group as a management consultant in Healthcare and Biopharma consulting.

Outside of work, Alice enjoys training in olympic weightlifting, practicing latte art, and trying new restaurants around New York City.
