About Me
Allison M. Portenoy, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine in the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Portenoy went on to receive her medical degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her residency training in Pediatrics at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and her fellowship training in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital. She specializes in the care of critically ill children, with a particular interest in sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
Her current research focuses on the impact of melanin on pulse oximeter accuracy in children with congenital heart disease. She was awarded the 2024 Health Equity Grant from the American Academy of Pediatrics for her work on this project.
