About Me

Dr. Alyssa M. Volmrich is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation and Human Performance. She is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biology from Duquesne University.  She earned her medical degree from University of Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Additionally, she has a Master of Business Administration from the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Management.

She completed her preliminary training at the University at Buffalo Catholic Health Systems Internal Medicine program. She then went on to receive specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Miami Jackson Health System. Finally, she completed her subspecialty training as a Brain Injury Medicine Fellow at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.


Dr. Volmrich is well-prepared to treat a spectrum of brain related conditions including stroke, anoxic brain injury, traumatic brain injury, and more. Additionally, she is trained and has a unique interest in spasticity management, including intrathecal pump management and botulinum toxin injections.

Dr. Volmrich understands that patients who have had a brain injury may experience a range of physical and mental conditions throughout their lifetime. She provides well-rounded, personalized, and compassionate care to all her patients. Her overall goal is to enhance patient function and quality of life.
