Ameth Aguirre, MD, MPH

Ameth Aguirre, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Newborn Medicine in the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Mount Sinai West.
Dr. Aguirre received his medical degree from the University of Panama, his General Pediatrics training from the University of Oklahoma and subspecialty training in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine from New York University. He also completed a Master’s in Public Health at New York University, in New York City. Dr. Aguirre has held academic positions at various Universities where he serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and worked as medical director of level III NICUs. He has conducted field work in public health internationally and is an active member of the executive committee American Academy of Pediatrics’ Section of Epidemiology Public Health and Evidence.
Dr. Aguirre has a special interest in racial disparities, specifically concerning to neonatal morbidities for which he has been a guest speaker at local and national organizations.
