Dr. Amit Telwala is a highly skilled, Board Qualified Foot and Ankle Surgeon specializing in advanced treatment of foot and ankle conditions—from sports injuries and trauma to complex reconstructive surgery. A native of Sunnyside, Queens, Dr. Telwala is proud to give back to the community he grew up in. He completed a demanding three-year surgical residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, a Level 1 Trauma Center, with additional training at NYP Weill Cornell, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year.
Dr. Telwala earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Adelphi University and his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from The New York College of Podiatric Medicine.
He is fluent in Gujarati and Hindi, allowing him to connect deeply with a diverse patient population. As a former athlete, he understands the urgency of healing and performance—and brings that same energy to every treatment plan.
When he’s not treating patients, you’ll find Dr. Telwala playing basketball, traveling, spending time with family, or catching the latest movies.
