About Me
Amy S. Aloysi MD MPH
A graduate of Dartmouth College, Dr. Aloysi earned her MD degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, and MPH in Global Health from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She completed internship at SUNY Upstate Medical University, residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and fellowship training in Geriatric Psychiatry at ISMMS. Dr. Aloysi is Board-Certified in Psychiatry (ABPN), Geriatric Psychiatry (ABPN), as well as Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry (UCNS). She holds NYS Certification in Medical Acupuncture, as well as training certifications in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and Biofeedback. Dr. Aloysi also completed training in transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) administration and neuropsychiatric deep brain stimulation (DBS) programming.
Dr. Aloysi joined the full-time faculty at Mount Sinai in 2006, serving as attending physician on the Adult and Geriatric Inpatient Services, supervising residents, medical students, and fellows. She was named Chief of the Geriatric Psychiatry Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital in 2009. In 2012, Dr. Aloysi was recruited as faculty for the Center for Cognitive Health in the Department of Neurology, managing a wide range of neuropsychiatric disorders.
Dr. Aloysi developed, earned accreditation, and successfully launched a new Fellowship in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry at Mount Sinai. She currently serves as Director of the Mount Sinai ECT Service and is key faculty for the Interventional Neuropsychiatry Program, including TMS and psychiatric neuromodulation. She is a faculty member of the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, serving as Principal Investigator for several research trials. She continues active involvement in the Mount Sinai Global Health Program, completing service assignments in Africa, Asia, and Central America.
Dr. Aloysi has been recognized in New York Magazine Best Doctors for 2017, 2018, and 2019.
