About Me
Anam Rizvi, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Henry D. Janowitz Division of Gastroenterology in Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Rizvi joined Mount Sinai after completing subspecialty fellowship training in advanced endoscopy, surgical endoscopy, and bariatric endoscopy at New York Presbyterian—Weill Cornell Medical Center. She completed gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Northwell Health—North Shore University Hospital/Long Island Jewish Medical Center where she served as a Chief Fellow and internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. She received her medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School as a Dean’s Scholar and undergraduate degree from Rutgers University—New Brunswick School of Arts and Sciences Honors Program as a Presidential Scholar. She is currently completing her Master’s in Public Health at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health.
Dr. Rizvi specializes in pancreatic disease, biliary tract disease, pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions of the gastrointestinal tract (stomach, small intestine, ampulla, colon, pancreas, bile ducts, liver), surgical endoscopy, and endoscopic management of obesity. She performs advanced therapeutic endoscopic techniques including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM), endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), complex polypectomy, endoscopic treatment of obesity including intragastric balloon placement and endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG), endoluminal stent placement, and radiofrequency ablation (RFA). Dr. Rizvi has clinical and research interests in minimally invasive endoscopic procedures, gastrointestinal oncology, endoscopic management of obesity, ergonomics in endoscopy and endoscopic education.
