Dr. Andrea Maritato is a graduate of the Jamaica Hospital Family Medicine Residency and worked there after graduation as the assistant program director where she coordinated the inpatient medicine services. Dr. Maritato first joined the Institute’s Harlem Residency as director of inpatient services and she is now residency director of the program. She is particularly interested in the benefits of continuity of care as patients transition from inpatient to outpatient settings, which is a strength of family medicine. In addition to inpatient medicine, Dr. Maritato draws from her former life as a high school teacher, precepting and giving lectures for the residents.
