About Me
Dr. Andressa Borges has been practicing as a Cardiologist for over 15 years. After graduating from her medical studies at Universidade Federal do Espirito Santo in Brazil, Dr. Borges remained in Brazil for her initial Internal Medicine and Cardiology residencies at Universidade De Sao Paulo and Institute Dante Pazzanese of Cardiology, respectively. Dr. Borges then moved to the US for two additional residencies in Diagnostic Radiology and Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Stony Brook Medical Center, respectively. To finish off her extensive training, Dr. Borges completed three fellowships in Echocardiography, Cardiovascular Radiology, and Cardiovascular Disease at the Montreal Heart Institute in Canada, St. Francis Hospital, and Stony Brook Medical Center, respectively. With her board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiology, and Cardiac Computed Tomography (CT), Dr. Borges' clinical interests include cardiac imaging and cardiovascular health in women.
Prior to joining Mount Sinai, Dr. Borges acted as Director of the Cardiac Diagnostic Center at the Allen Hospital of the New York Presbyterian Health System. She has also acted as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Columbia University and has published cardiac imaging articles in medical journals.
In her professional community, Dr. Borges is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Heart Association and the American Society of Echocardiography, and holds Fellowship status in the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. Additionally, Dr. Borges is multilingual, with the ability to communicate with patients in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
