
Andrew Smith, MD, PhD
About Me
Dr. Smith's scientific goal is to reduce the need for trial-and-error in psychiatry by advancing individualized modulation of neural circuits. He earned his B.A. from Northwestern University, and his M.D./Ph.D. from Yale University, and his work has been recognized by awards from the International College of Neuropsychopharmacology, the American Psychiatric Association, and the National Institutes of Health. His clinical work uses transcranial magnetic stimulation, vagus nerve stimulation, and deep brain stimulation to treat illnesses such as major depressive disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
