About Me
Dr. Angélica Torres-Berrío is a Robin Chemers Neustein Postdoctoral Fellow at the Friedman Brain Institute at Mount Sinai and an International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) scholar. She is also the recipient of the 2022 FBI Postdoc Innovator Award. Her research focuses on the epigenetic mechanisms underlying psychiatric disorders characterized by early-onset, and the lasting effects of early life stress on cognitive function. Angélica is a member of the advisory committee of the STEM sin Fronteras Foundation, (STEM without borders), an organization that seeks to provide young students of rural areas in Colombia with opportunities for a better future in science. She collaborates with international organizations such as IBRO, the ALBA Network, the Canadian College of Neuropsychopharmacology (CCNP), and the Colombian College of Neuroscience (COLNE). Her dream is to run her own lab while giving more visibility to neuroscientists from Latin America.
