About Me
Angie Buttigieg, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and an Attending Physician in the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Program.
Dr. Buttigieg graduated with a B.S. in Microbiology with a minor in Medical Anthropology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and received her medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine where she was a graduate of the leadership in medicine for the underserved program. She completed her residency at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C., and fellowship at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital.
Prior to fellowship, Dr. Buttigieg worked as a general pediatrician and pediatric hospitalist at the Children’s Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
Research Focus:
As a fellow, Dr. Buttigieg’s research focused on medical education, health disparities, and quality improvement. Her recent projects include developing a curriculum to teach cross-cultural communication to residents and proper documentation of the pediatric early warning signs by residents.
