About Me

Dr. Sakhuja is an Associate Professor in the Division of Data Driven and Digital Medicine, Department of Medicine and Institute for Critical Care Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Sakhuja is an intensivist, nephrologist, clinical Informaticist and data scientist. He is the Director of Clinical Informatics Research in the Division of Data Driven and Digital Medicine. As a leading physician-scientist, Dr. Sakhuja is working at the forefront of cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence and Informatics research, with a focus on its integration and implementation into clinical practice. 

Dr. Sakhuja completed his medical school from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India – the premier medical institute of India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Medical College of Wisconsin, fellowship in nephrology at Cleveland Clinic and fellowships in renal transplant and critical care medicine at Mayo Clinic. He then completed a Master of Science in health informatics at the University of Pittsburgh. 

Dr. Sakhuja is an NIH funded investigator with research interests in leveraging multimodal data sources, artificial intelligence and informatics to improve processes of care and outcomes for critically ill patients. His current work focuses on personalizing therapies for post-operative and critically ill patients using novel machine learning methodologies
