As a board-certified gynecologist and integrative medicine physician, Dr. Barbieri’s passion is truly personalized, patient-centered care of women. From preventive care to complex gynecologic issues, Dr. Barbieri partners with her patients to help them maintain or restore optimal gynecologic health. Dr. Barbieri also has special expertise in helping navigate menopause, where she focuses on each patient by customizing nutrition, lifestyle, and use of hormonal or non-hormonal treatments.
Dr. Barbieri completed her residency in OB/GYN at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. She is currently an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at Mount Sinai Health System and is a member of the Mount Sinai Excellence in Gynecology menopause program and the complementary and alternative medicine program. She is certified by the North American Menopause Society as a menopause practitioner and is a Fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Barbieri also completed a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, as well as the Integrative Medicine fellowship under the direction of Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona School of Medicine. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and in integrative medicine. In addition to clinical care, she remains active in medical student education.
Dr. Barbieri combines modern gynecology approaches with integrative methods, including nutrition in her highly personalized clinical practice. She is engaged in teaching medical students, and her unique approach has been recognized through her published work by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for the New York Metro area, and has been an active contributor to various media outlets on women’s health topics. Dr. Barbieri is also the founding physician and medical expert of Elektra Health, a digital education platform about menopause.
