About Me
Antonios Arvelakis, MD, MPH is a multi-organ transplant surgeon at the Recanati/Miller Transplantation Institute as well as an Associate Professor of surgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Arvelakis specializes in adult liver, kidney and pancreas transplants and also has extensive experience in paired kidney donation.
Dr. Arvelakis earned his medical degree and completed his general surgery residency at the Athens University School of Medicine. He then completed his fellowship in transplant surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital and began working at the Yale New Haven Transplantation Center where he went on to become the director of the Kidney Paired Exchange program. He returned to Mount Sinai after five years of working at Yale.
In August, 2014 Dr. Arvelakis obtained a Masters Degree in Pulic Health, Health Policy and Management from Columbia University.
His research interests include Living donor liver transplantation, kidney paired donation and pancreas transplantation.
