Dr. Anuradha (Anu) Lala-Trindade (Lala) is a nationally recognized cardiologist whose clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of heart function care—from prevention to advanced therapies. Her interests include holistic prevention of heart disease, cardiometabolic health, genetic and valvular cardiomyopathies, and the comprehensive management of patients requiring mechanical circulatory support devices and heart transplantation. She has particular expertise in the diagnosis and management of cardiometabolic health in women during mid-life, a period of profound physiological change that carries unique cardiovascular risks.
At the heart of Dr. Lala’s practice is a commitment to whole-person, integrative care. She believes that optimal cardiovascular health requires more than medical and device-based therapies—it must also honor each patient’s individual story, lifestyle, emotional well-being, and spiritual needs. Her personalized, compassionate approach reflects her vision of treating not just the heart, but the whole person.
Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Lala is deeply engaged in advancing the field:
• Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Cardiac Failure, the official journal of the Heart Failure Society of America.
• Program Director for the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship at Mount Sinai.
• Leadership role within the NHLBI Cardiothoracic Surgery Network Data Coordinating Center.
• Active contributor to national committees of the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, and Heart Failure Society of America.
She is highly published and her contributions have been widely recognized: she was named the American Heart Association Young Professionals Society Honoree (2016) for her commitment to education and cardiovascular health awareness, and received the Proctor H. Harvey Teaching Award from the American College of Cardiology (2020), honoring her dedication and excellence in medical education.

This was an AMAZING experience, I never had the pleasure of meeting and being treated by a Doctor like I was treated by Dr. Lala, she was kind, inquisitive and I felt really heard and understood by her. I left her office with a sense of validation, wellbeing and clarity about my treatment plan. She is not only treating the condition, she is also taking a holistic approach to my wellbeing. I consider myself extremely lucky to be under her care.
