Ardeshir Hakami Kermani, MD, received his medical degree from the Aarhus University Medical School in Denmark. He was the recipient of scholarships from the Fulbright Foundation, Danish Heart Association and the Danish Research Council for research in Cardiothoracic Surgery. Dr.Hakami completed residencies in General Surgery, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Odense University Hospital, Denmark. Dr.Hakami was appointed Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Odense University hospital, Denmark, from 2005-2010. During this time he was Co-Director of Cardiothoracic Residency program, and helped to found the Center of Excellence in minimal Invasive Thoracic Surgery. Dr.Hakami went on the complete an advanced fellowship in General Thoracic Surgery under the training of Dr. Raja Flores at Mount Sinai Medical Center from 2010-2011. Dr. Hakami has over 10 years of experience in minimally invasive thoracic surgery, mediastinal staging, VATS-Lobectomy, and Sympathectomy. He is a board certified thoracic surgeon in Denmark. He is fluent in English, Farsi, Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian.
I have 7 years of experience as an attending Thoracic Surgeon with over 700 major cases performed. I'm an expert in minimal invasive Thoracic Surgery and I have performed more than 100 VATS-Lobectomies and more than 400 minimal invasive mediastinal staging, EBUS. I've consistently demonstrated superior expertise in surgical techniques, with a dedication to perfection, excellence, and optimal patient care. My experience has exposed me to a variety of diverse conditions and their treatments. I have the ability to perform under high stress environments, and have good communication and interpersonal skills. I contribute to a positive setting conducive to effective patient care. I was not only the person who introduced VATS-Lobectomy to The Department of Thoracic Surgery, Odense University Hospital, I was also among the group who established The Center of Excellence for Minimal Invasive Thoracic Surgery at Odense University Hospital.

Dr.Hakami has been involved in clinical research since medical school in 1993. He received a scholarship from Aahus University and Danish Research Council to do research in the field of Cardiomyoplasty at the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA. The result was a peer reviewed article published in the European Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery. He is also co-author in 3 other peer reviewed articles.
