About Me
Dr. Arel Golombeck is an Assistant Professor of Radiology, Vice Section Chief of Emergency Radiology, and Co-Director of the Lung Biopsy Service at the Icahn School of Medicine. He specializes in Fine Needle Aspirations (FNAs) of lung nodules, working in one of the largest FNA practices in the United States.
Dr. Golombeck received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He then went on to complete his medical training at University of Pennsylvania Medical School. He spent his internship year in Pediatrics at Long Island Jewish Hospital, followed by a radiology residency at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts, where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Golombeck completed a one-year fellowship in Abdominal imaging at Montefiore Medical Center. He subsequently completed a two-year fellowship of Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Golombeck helped create the overnight Emergency Medicine Radiology group at Mount Sinai which has tripled in size since its inception. Dr. Golombeck has performed thousands of CT guided procedures currently focusing on FNAs and core needle biopsies of lung nodules and rib/chest wall lesions.
