About Me
Ariel Brandwein, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Attending Physician in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine in the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital. Dr. Brandwein received his medical degree from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel. He then completed a residency and chief residency in Pediatrics at Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York. Following his training in General Pediatrics, Dr. Brandwein completed a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York. After completing his specialty training, Dr. Brandwein spent two years as a post-doctoral researcher at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. Under the mentorship of Dr. Clifford Deutschman, he investigated the role of mitochondrial dysfunction during sepsis. Additionally, Dr. Brandwein spent four years as an attending physician in the Pediatric Intensive Care unit at Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York. In July 2020, he transitioned his clinical practice to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at New York Presbyterian – Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
