About Me
Dr. Arvind Kamthan has practiced as a board certified Medical Oncologist since 1993. He graduated from S.M.S. Medical College, Jaipur in India. Dr. Kamthan completed his residency in General Internal Medicine at the hospitals in United Kingdom followed by a fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology Malignancies at Christie Hospital, University of Manchester. He then pursued a second fellowship in Neoplastic Diseases at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Kamthan specializes in solid cancer, including lung, kidney, bladder and prostate. He also sees patients with Thrombocytopenia, Neutropenia, and iron deficiency anemia. Additionally, Dr. Kamthan is multilingual and can communicate with patients in English, Hindi, and Urdu.
Prior to joining Mount Sinai in 2020, Dr. Kamthan served as Assistant Professor in Hematology and Oncology at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York Presbyterian Health System. At Mount Sinai Brooklyn, Dr. Kamthan acts as Chief for Hematology and Medical Oncology, where he leads a team of oncology specialists. He is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and has published research in the field of Medical Oncology.
Dr. Kamthan is dedicated to his work and cares for his patients while staying up to date on his knowledge. Outside of his time in the office, Dr. Kamthan plays tennis and enjoys learning about culture and other interests of people from various countries.
