About Me

Aster Perkins (they/them) is a current PhD student in the Neuroscience multidisciplinary training area at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Aster is a member of the Rich Lab, where they research the neural instantiation of expectation and value in the orbitofrontal cortex and its role in decision-making. 

Aster graduated from Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. They then obtained an Intramural Research Training Award from the National Institute of Mental Health, where they worked as a postbaccalaureate fellow from 2016-2018.
