About Me
Dr. Atul Kukar completed his undergraduate education from Georgetown University and earned his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated with honors as a member of the Psi Sigma Alpha Honor Society.
He recently completed a dual degree program at Cornell University, receiving his MBA and a MS in Healthcare Leadership.
He completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He was selected to be one of the Chief Medical Residents and then went on to complete his training as a Clinical Fellow in Cardiology at St. Luke's-Roosevelt in 2007.
In 2008 he completed his fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology and in 2009 his Endovascular Intervention training at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Dr. Kukar has been recognized for his endeavors in teaching, research, and the care of his patients. He has participated in the publication of numerous abstracts, review articles, book chapters, case reports and manuscripts.
Dr. Kukar continues his research today in the field of Interventional Cardiology & Endovascular Intervention, most recently serving as Northwell Health's Principal Investigator in a national registry utilizing drug eluting balloons to treat severe peripheral arterial disease.
Dr. Kukar is board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Interventional Cardiology. His practice focuses on the treatment of both cardiac and vascular disease.
