About Me
Barbara C. Deli, MD, is Residency Program Director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai West. In addition, she is an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Deli earned her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at the University of Pennsylvania in 1994, when she was named Outstanding Graduate in Chemical Engineering by the American Institute of Chemists. In 1998, she graduated with her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. While there, she was Founder and Chair of Medical Students for Choice. Dr. Deli received her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Beth Israel Medical Center from 1998-2002, during which time she received several honors, culminating in service as Administrative Chief Resident. In 2002, she became a Faculty Attending Physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, now called Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai West, and from 2004-2006, she served as Medical Student Program Director. In 2011, Dr. Deli was named Assistant Residency Program Director, a position she held until becoming Program Director in 2019.
Dr. Deli is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. A skilled physician, she has broad experience in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. She has special interests in related psychosocial issues, including counseling to facilitate patient choices and success with contraception and breastfeeding.
