Basma S Faris, MD

Basma Faris, MD, is a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist and laborist at Mount Sinai West and an Assistant Professor in the Raquel and Jaime Gilinski Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Faris focuses on general obstetrics and gynecology, with special interest in PCOS and pregnancy nutrition. Dr. Faris is also a certified culinary medicine specialist.

Dr. Faris received her medical degree from University at Buffalo, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She went on to earn a Master of Science in nutrition from Brooklyn College of CUNY. Dr. Faris completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Mount Sinai. While a resident, she published a study on the impact of lifestyle intervention on pregnancy outcomes in obese pregnant women.

Dr. Faris is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
