About Me
Dr. Benedikt “Ben” Ilyaguyev is an Instructor in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Icahn School of Medicine and an Emergency Medicine attending physician at The Mount Sinai Brooklyn Hospital, Mount Sinai Health System. He joined Mount Sinai in July 2021. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Ben earned his medical degree at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harlem, New York. While completing a residency in emergency medicine at Staten Island University Hospital, Ben found particular interest in resident and student education, earning the Teaching Resident of the Year award, and Simulation Educator award. His publications include a case study of ventriculitis and a report on physician opioid prescribing patterns in Staten Island, tackling the opioid epidemic that plagues the borough.
