About Me
Benjamin Ungar, MD is the Director of the Alopecia Center of Excellence and Director of the Rosacea & Seborrheic Dermatitis Clinic at the Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Ungar graduated from Harvard University cum laude in 2009 and began medical school at the Icahn School of Medicine in 2011. From 2014 to 2016, Dr. Ungar completed a research fellowship in the Laboratory for Investigative Dermatology at Rockefeller University, after which he graduated from Medical School in 2017 with distinction in research. After completing his intern year at NYU Winthrop Hospital, Dr. Ungar began his dermatology residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, from which he graduated as the Chief Resident in June 2021. Additionally, during the last year of his residency, Dr. Ungar also completed a T32 NIH Research Training Fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
