About Me
Dr. Bhavanadhar Penta joined Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital at The Mount Sinai Hospital, on August 1, 2025 is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) and Associate Director of Structural Heart Disease Interventions at Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital. He is an interventional cardiologist specializing in structural heart disease and complex coronary interventions. Dr. Penta completed fellowships in Structural Heart Disease and Complex High-Risk Coronary Interventions at Mount Sinai, where he trained under global leaders in cardiovascular innovation. He earned his medical degree from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad India and was the best outgoing student of his class with multiple gold medals. His clinical expertise includes transcatheter valve therapies (TAVR, TEER, TTVR), left atrial appendage occlusion, high-risk PCI, and mechanical circulatory support. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He has presented original research and complex case work at major cardiology conferences such as TCT, ACC, CRT, and the NY Valves.
Dr. Penta is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI). He is a dedicated educator and advocate, currently serving on the Advocacy and Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committees for the New York State Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and the Broadening Opportunity, Leadership, and Delivery of Patient Care (BOLD) Committee of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI). Dr. Penta has received several teaching and research awards, including the recent SCAI 30 in Their 30s.
In addition to his clinical and research roles, Dr. Penta is passionate about education and mentorship. He has trained numerous residents, fellows, and medical students in both India and the U.S.
