About Me
Brett Marinelli, MD, MSCR, RPVI
Dr. Brett Marinelli is an Assistant Professor of Radiology in the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Division at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is board certified in Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. He completed his MD and Master of Science in Clinical Research at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, followed by a surgical internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and his diagnostic and interventional radiology training at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Marinelli specializes in the minimally invasive, image-guided treatment of cancer, with particular expertise in hepatobiliary and oncologic disease affecting the liver, bile ducts, and pancreas. His clinical practice encompasses transarterial therapies, including yttrium-90 radioembolization and embolization, as well as percutaneous tumor ablation. He works as part of a multidisciplinary hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal oncology team, partnering with surgical and medical oncologists to develop and deliver individualized treatment plans for patients with primary and metastatic cancers. He also treats diseases of the arteries and veins, including visceral arterial aneurysms and mesenteric stenoses; and venous compression of the lower extremities and portal venous vessels.
Grounded in a strong foundation in diagnostic imaging, Dr. Marinelli is committed to coordinated, multidisciplinary patient care and to advancing the role of innovative, technology-driven approaches in interventional radiology. He maintains an active interest in translating emerging machine learning tools into safe, high-quality clinical practice.
