About Me
Caitlin Carr, MD, is a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist specializing in gynecologic oncology and an Assistant Professor in the Raquel and Jaime Gilinski Depart of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Carr’s areas of special interest include advanced abdominal-pelvic and minimally invasive surgical procedures, management of patients with hereditary cancer syndromes, and clinical trials for advancement of novel chemotherapeutics.
Dr. Carr first joined Mount Sinai as a fellow in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology. She received her medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and went on to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where she was recognized with the Resident Teacher of the Year Award. As a third-year resident, she was selected for the Felix Rutledge Fellowship resident rotation in gynecologic oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Carr has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals on topics such as clinicopathologic characteristics and outcomes of endometrial cancer patients with mismatch repair deficiency, the role of chemotherapy for early stage endometrial cancer with lymphovascular space invasion, long-term outcomes for single-port risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy for women at risk of gynecologic cancer, inflammatory markers in gynecologic oncology patients hospitalized with COVID-19, and racial disparities in patients with COVID-19 infection and gynecologic malignancy. Dr. Carr has presented on her research related to the association of the COVID -19 pandemic and mental health outcomes of gynecologic oncology providers at multiple national meetings, which has earned her national media attention.
Dr. Carr is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, where she serves as a member of the Wellness Committee and Communications Committee.
