About Me

I am a first year PhD student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. I am interested in researching the molecular pathology of complex human diseases, particularly those characterized by neurodegeneration. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and first developed an interest in genetics in 7th grade after watcing a documentary on the Human Genome Project. I received my Bachelors of Science in Biology from Harvey Mudd College. While at Harvey Mudd College, I studied the molecular basis of aging on Drosophila, particularly the role of oxidative damage in the mitochondria. I also spent the summer between my junior and senior years at Mount Sinai in Dr. Hala Harony-Nicolas' lab, studying the role of oxytocin in the pathology of autism spectrum disorder.
