About Me
Dr. Carlos Magalhaes joined Mount Sinai as an Family Medicine specialist in 2022. After graduating with his medical degree from NY College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Magalhaes completed his osteopathic rotating internship at St. Clare's Hospital. He then moved to Long Beach Medical Center for his residency in Family Medicine before completing his fellowship in Geriatric Medical Education and Career Development at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. With his board certification by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, Dr. Magalhaes specializes in preventative and holistic medicine.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Magalhaes serves as a Clinical Skills Instructor at NYIT College of Medicine and is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He is also multilingual and can communicate with patients in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
As a Family physician, Dr. Magalhaes has a particular interest in applying a holistic approach to his primary care practice, emphasizing the fundamental importance of preventative medicine and the advancement of health literacy among underprivileged patient populations.
