About Me
Dr. Carmel Cohen has served as President of the New York Obstetrical Society, President of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, President of the Society of Pelvic Surgeons, Founding Member and Council Member of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society. He is a member of the National Assembly and Chair of the Gynecologic Cancer Advisory Group for the American Cancer Society, is on the Board of Directors of the Eastern Division and the National Board of the American Cancer Society, and is the co-Chairman of the Board of Directors and Scientific Director of the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. He is the author of 137 peer-reviewed publications, 86 published abstracts, 56 invited publications, chapters and monographs, and is a noted speaker around the world. Dr. Cohen received his BA from Harvard University and his MD degree from Tulane Medical School.

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs.
