About Me
Carolyn Iocolano PhD, FNP-BC is a board certified nurse practitioner. She has Masters and PhD degrees from New York University and a Family Nurse Practitioner post graduate degree from The State University of New York at Stony Brook. She has been in healthcare for over 25 years as a clinician, teacher, and administrator, and over 15 years as a nurse practitioner. Dr. Iocolano's doctoral dissertation involved a study of women with early stage breast cancer. She has published several articles regarding pain management and acute care.
Nurse practitioners provide primary and urgent care and are qualified to meet patients’ comprehensive healthcare needs including physical exams, sick visits, ordering and interpretation of labs, diagnostic test, prescribing medications and treatments. NPs work independently as healthcare providers and collaboratively with the entire healthcare team.
Dr. Iocolano has special interests in preventative care, mental health, travel medicine, PrEP (pre exposure HIV prophylaxis) and sexual health. She also performs annual physicals, sick visits. She believes that optimum health is achieved through a provider-patient partnership based on respect, trust and compassion.
The state of Florida requires out-of-state professionals who are registered to provide telehealth services to display a hyperlink to the Florida Department of Health telehealth web page. This allows Florida patients who are receiving medical care by telehealth to confirm the provider’s licensure and Florida registration.
