About Me

Cary Blum, MD, MPA, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. After growing up in Brooklyn, Dr. Blum went on to receive his B.A. in Geography at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. He then completed his Doctor of Medicine and Masters of Public Administration in Health Policy from NYU, and subsequently, also completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Residency at NYU Medical Center / NYC H&H--Bellevue. He is board certified in Internal Medicine. He currently practices at Mount Sinai Internal Medicine Associates where he supervises internal medicine residents practicing  primary care. His clinical interests include hypertension, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, calcium disorders, acid-base disorders and thyroid disease. In addition to clinical medicine, Dr. Blum is passionate about healthcare reform, promoting primary care, and medical education.
