About Me
Cary Blum, MD, MPA, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine. In 2016, he received his MD from the NYU School of Medicine, as well as an MPA in Health Policy from the NYU Wagner School of Public Service. After completing his residency and chief residency at the NYU-Bellevue Primary Care-Internal Medicine program in 2020, he joined the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. At Sinai, he divides his time between caring for a diverse panel of patients at Internal Medicine Associates, and teaching medical trainees at all levels.
As a primary care doctor, Dr. Blum uses an evidence-based and personalized approach to partner with his patients to achieve their health goals. He provides a broad set of clinical services, including preventive care, diagnosis and treatment of new complaints, and chronic disease management. He is board certified in internal medicine and has particular interests in hypertension, diabetes, lipid disorders, chronic kidney disease, and cardiovascular disease prevention.

Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.
