About Me
Dr. Cesar Sanz has been in practice as a colorectal surgeon for over 15 years. After earning his medical degree from SUNY Health Science Center, Dr. Sanz entered his General Surgery residency at The Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. During this time, he had several leadership roles, including Chief Resident in his final year. Dr. Sanz then remained at The Robert Wood Johnson Medical School for his fellowship in Colon & Rectal Surgery. With his double board certification by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon & Rectal Surgery, Dr. Sanz specializes in minimally invasive procedures and advanced laparoscopic techniques. His work allows patients to return to daily activities within just a few days after major surgery. Additionally, Dr. Sanz is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Before joining CRSSNY, Dr. Sanz worked as an attending colorectal surgeon for the North Shore LIJ Health System. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Hofstra Medical School where he teaches colorectal procedures to young medical professionals.
During his years in practice, Dr. Sanz has contributed his extensive research to numerous medical journals. He also holds active memberships in several professional organizations, including the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.
