Pediatrics, Pediatric Pulmonology
About Me
Dr. Chantal Spencer Grant is an Associate Professor, Medical Director, and Director of the Pediatric Fellowship Program in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology in the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital.
After completing her undergraduate studies at Cornell University, she then obtained her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. She returned to New York for her pediatric residency at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, after which she completed a sub-specialty fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at the Texas Children’s Hospital (Baylor College of Medicine).
Dr. Grant is an accomplished pediatric flexible bronchoscopist and has experience using advanced diagnostic and interventional techniques including transbronchial lung biopsy, navigational bronchoscopy, and cryotherapy. As such, she and her team are able to formulate novel and minimally-invasive approaches to both diagnosis and treatment of complex airway and lung diseases. In addition, she has expertise in general pediatric pulmonary medicine, including severe asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, cystic fibrosis, primary ciliary dyskinesia, chronic lung disease, and ventilator dependence. Dr. Grant also has a special interest in medical education for physicians in training and young physician mentorship.
Dr. Grant's clinical foci are asthma, chronic lung disease, interstitial lung disease, flexible bronchoscopy, and airway disorders.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.
Dr. Grant has not yet completed reporting of Industry relationships.
Mount Sinai’s faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
