About Me

Dr. Chantal Spencer Grant is an Associate Professor and Medical Director in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology in the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital. After completing her undergraduate studies at Cornell University, she then obtained her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. She returned to New York for her pediatric residency at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, after which she completed a sub-specialty fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at the Texas Children’s Hospital (Baylor College of Medicine).  Dr. Grant is an accomplished pediatric flexible bronchoscopist and one of the few in the region with experience using advanced diagnostic and interventional techniques including transbronchial lung biopsy, navigational bronchoscopy, and cryotherapy. As such, she and her team are able to formulate novel and minimally-invasive approaches to both diagnosis and treatment of complex airway and lung diseases. In addition, she has expertise in general pediatric pulmonary medicine, including severe asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, cystic fibrosis, primary ciliary dyskinesia, chronic lung disease, and ventilator dependence.  Dr. Grant also has a special interest in medical education for physicians in training and young physician mentorship.

Dr. Grant's clinical foci are asthma, chronic lung disease, interstitial lung disease,  flexible bronchoscopy, and airway disorders.
