About Me
Christina A Palmese PhD, ABPP-CN is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist and Director of the Neuropsychology Service in the Department of Neurology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and Mount Sinai Downtown. Dr. Palmese’s clinical interests include lifespan cognitive assessment, with a particular interest in learning and memory.
Dr. Palmese carefully tailors each assessment to meet the referral question and the needs of the patient, with the end goal of providing a diagnosis and identifying appropriate interventions. With 20 years experience in the field, she works closely with neurosurgery to assess for cognitive risks and benefits of surgery in patients with epilepsy and movement disorders. She also has extensive experience with diagnosing dementia, mild cognitive impairment, and, in children, developmental delays and learning disabilities. Given her background in concussion and head injury, she remains involved with the NFL concussion assessment program, as well.

Dr. Palmese earned her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Trinity College and obtained her two master’s degrees and a doctoral degree in neuropsychology from the CUNY Graduate Center. She completed her neuropsychology residency at North Shore-LIJ and her two year post-doctoral fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center.
Dr. Palmese remains highly involved in the clinical, research, and outreach communities. She has received recognition for her leadership and research, and published in international journals. She also is recent Past President of the New York Neuropsychology Group (NYNG), where she remains on the Board of Directors, and is incoming secretary and on the board of directors of the New York State Association of Neuropsychology (NYSAN).

The state of Florida requires out-of-state professionals who are registered to provide telehealth services to display a hyperlink to the Florida Department of Health telehealth web page. This allows Florida patients who are receiving medical care by telehealth to confirm the provider’s licensure and Florida registration.
