About Me
Christopher Cao, MD is an Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He provides clinical care for a wide variety of gastrointestinal diseases. He values the patient-physician relationship and aims to provide the best possible care for his patients.
Dr. Cao earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College through an accelerated BS/MD program. He then completed his residency and fellowship training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, where he served as Chief Fellow. His honors include the Fellows-In-Training award from the American College of Gastroenterology, and the Richard C Gozon Compassion in Medicine award. He has authored multiple publications and abstracts in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and has presented at national meetings. He has both a research and clinical interest in the study of Celiac disease.
