About Me
Dr. Smolock joins us from The Cleveland Clinic where he was a Staff Surgeon since 2012 in the Department of Vascular Surgery and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Leaner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Smolock’s clinical interests focus on the areas of carotid disease, aortic dissections, aneurysms, and aortoiliac occlusive disease, mesenteric arterial disease, and lower extremity arterial disease.
Dr. Smolock is board certified in Vascular Surgery. He obtained his Doctorate of Medicine degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA in 2002. He completed a postdoctoral Fellowship in Research at the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to complete a surgical residency at the University of Rochester, in NY, and a Fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center in Houston, TX.
He is a member of many prestigious professional organizations including the American College of Surgeons and the Society for Vascular Surgery. He has held positions and committee chairs on multiple national and institutional committees and has been a sought-after national lecturer.
Dr. Smolock is also highly active in research and a well published author with over 50 peer-reviewed publications. His research interests focus on vascular surgical quality and complex carotid and aortic interventions.
